As we stepped into our first Clinical year studies at Government Erskine Hospital, we know Dr.G.Subramanian M.B.,B.S., F.R.C.P., Ph.D. as the Professor of Department of Medicine. He was fair complexioned and then known fondly as Dr.GS. His OP and Ward rounds were characteristic: the place was hushed down; he entered the place followed by Assistants, PG students, House Surgeons and others. We watched him with reverence, isn't it?
